Incubus Adored is Available for Purchase and in Kindle Unlimited

I realized I totally, 100% forgot to post that Incubus Adored was live! How forgetful of me. I know I have a blog, and yet I consistently forget to do anything with it.

Gravidam Series #1

Peirs had accepted his life of servitude to an angel. His keeper asked only for a willing body, and in exchange his needs were met and he was fed and clothed. Peirs might have served the angel forever—it was the only life he knew—but one day Peirs discovered something he had no way to plan for. After two millennia, he was pregnant. Peirs now must summon the courage to escape his master and the unbendable divine law that declared no half-breeds should live, but running into an angelic soldier in the back room of a bar wasn’t part of his plan.

After years of begging to go to the battlefields on Earth, Tabbis, the youngest angel in Heaven, finally got his assignment. Ready for heroics and bloodshed, he was stunned when he found enchanting and seductive Peirs instead. Tabbis was duty bound to kill Peirs, but Peirs’s very existence challenged everything Tabbis thought he knew.

Tabbis needs answers. Peirs wants nothing more than to save his baby and live in peace. Can they band together to help each other? Or will the wrath of Heaven tear them apart?

Incubus Adored: Book #1 in the Gravidam Series

Incubus Adored - eBook (2)

Hello All!

My life has had some interesting ups and downs in the last year. I gained (and lost) a day job, Sugar Plum has started a new job, and I went through some personal things that are still hanging in the wind, but through all of that, I’ve still be plucking away at the keyboard.

I’ve never really sat down to write a series before, but I’ve decided my next adventure is upward and onward into the land of MPREG.

The series begins with Incubus Adored, which has a tentative release day of May 17th. Every story is fully contained in and of itself and should be able to be read stand alone.

Those of you who know me are well aware that I have a tendency toward darker stories and story themes, and while this one is also a bit dark there is also hope in the end. I’ve decided to go indie publication with this series (Though I have a crack editor, and fearless band of supporters beta reading to help me pull it all together). Incubus Adored has a bit more sex in it than my last book, Secret Seth, but I feel it suited the story.

At this point I would be remiss if I did not thank Tricia Kristufek, who rips my work apart so I can put it back together.

So, allow me to share the blurb.

Peirs had accepted his life of servitude to an angel. His keeper asked only for a willing body, and in exchange his needs were met and he was fed and clothed. Peirs might have served the angel forever—it was the only life he knew—but one day Peirs discovered something he had no way to plan for. After a millennium, he was pregnant. Peirs now must summon the courage to escape his master and the unbendable angelic law that declared no half-breeds should live, but running into an angelic soldier in the back room of a bar wasn’t part of his plan.

After years of begging to go to the battlefields on Earth, Tabbis, the youngest angel in Heaven, finally got his assignment. Ready for heroics and bloodshed, he was stunned when he found enchanting and seductive Piers instead.

The process for an indie book is so much more intense on my end than when I work with a publisher, but it’s been fun as well. I make all of the decisions, so if something is wrong in the end, it is all my fault, unlike when I have a book that a publisher is curating. I’m excited to get Incubus Adored out soon. Right now it’s back with my editor. I’ll go over it again, read it out loud, a final check, and then have it to the formatter. After that it’s only a hop skip and a jump to published.

So, save the date for this one. May 17th you’ll be able to pick up Incubus Adored as an Amazon exclusive release, also available in Kindle Unlimited.

Today I’m sitting down to begin the manuscript document for Incubus Lost Book #2 in the Gravidam series. If you would like to check out my regular updates on the Gravidam Series you can find those at the facebook page dedicated to it right here.

Happy Reading!

Ki

While you wait for Incubus Adored, check out Secret Seth. It’s available for purchase and through Kindle Unlimited.

SecretSethFinalBookCoverTyler Faulkner lived for his work, constructing Hollywood sets. His designs were perfect, and he expected equal perfection from his crew and himself. But, talented as he was, he felt trapped. A creative clash with a producer left him out of more than just a job, and Tyler decided that maybe a new beginning was exactly what he needed.

Seth Goodwin was reliable. So rock-steady that his father made him a partner in the family construction business over his older brothers. Seth’s job was simple—he took a highly skilled crew out on the road to build ridiculously expensive projects for rich clients. Their success prompted Seth and his dad to hire a new designer.

Seth wasn’t so steady around Tyler. Tyler didn’t simply draw art; he forced it into reality, elbowing his way into Seth’s work crew and life, whether he wanted him there or not. But Seth had a secret he’s been keeping for a long while, and Tyler, flamboyant and verbose, wasn’t someone who fit in a closet, unless he was looking for the perfect shoes to go with his outfit. Would Seth and Tyler be able to make it work? Or would everyone’s secrets catch up with them?

The Creative Process Isn’t All Rainbows Farted by Unicorns

balloons                I’m a positive person. I’m the type of person who truly believes nearly anything can be done, likely attributable to the steady diet of positive 90’s movies with ridiculous endings during my childhood. But…I’ve been working on the second book in the Gem City Grit universe for nearly 9 months now. That is beyond the pale. It should have taken me four months to get this book done, tops. I’m beginning to think it will never end. At least half of the reason this is dragging out so long is my fault. I like to play the blame game, but there you are. I have, as yet, to figure out a workable, reliable daily writing schedule around my Sugar Plum’s job that he started last August and my children, whom because of that delightful schedule I am nearly entirely responsible for.

I feel like Winnie-ther-Pooh, Singing a Complaining song.

                Yes, ther Pooh.

                You know what that means.

I spend soooo much of my day with my children and I love them.

But I really want this book done. I’m up at 5 am again even though I know it turns me into a bear by day three. I need this book to be done.

Tut tut, it looks like I’m starting to loathe and detest every waking moment I don’t get to work on this book because I want it to be done so badly.

That’s actually a slight exaggeration fueled by grumpy, up too early, melodramatic thoughts. Yesterday was Sugar Plum’s birthday and my living room is scattered with balloons I blew up for his party at the kids’ insistence, and all I can think as I look at them is, “So much wasted time”. That’s how I knew I had to find time to work on this story more, even if I had to steal it from my sleep and stop doing every other single “extra” thing I do that isn’t keep up the house so that it isn’t disgusting and take care of the kids. When I start hating things like birthday parties as wasted time I know.

The creative process is so fun sometimes!

Tut tut, it looks like a mild anxiety attack.

So, the agenda for today is to find at least 4 hours to write without relying on Sugar Plum to pull his weight and give it to me because that so infrequently happens, teach my eldest pre-Algebra, teach my youngest to recognize the ABC’s, and potentially throw in a science lesson somewhere. Hell, I might even start teaching state capitals today. Why not?

But I have to get this Gem City Grit book done before my brain declares war on itself. I’m tired of thinking about it without it going anywhere and getting done. I need to be thinking about new stories, new characters. I have to be done with it.

Check out my newest book Trust Trade!

trusttradefs_v1Life hasn’t been good to Jeb Birchman. When he attempted to escape his abusive, zealot father, he found himself on the streets, making a living the only way he knew how, the victim of more violent men—one of whom orchestrates a series of vicious attacks that leave Jeb deaf. Now that he’s aged beyond his latest client’s interest, Jeb knows he needs to escape his risky lifestyle before it’s too late. Seeing one last chance for himself, he earns a GED and enrolls in college.

Freddy Williams enjoys a life that couldn’t be more different from what Jeb has survived. He loves sports, being a personal trainer, and hanging out with friends. The son of deaf parents, Freddy is an outspoken advocate of the Deaf community and works as an interpreter at his college. When he meets Jeb at the bookstore, he’s struck by how attractive he is, and as they get to know each other, he finds Jeb’s good heart just as appealing. By the time he learns of Jeb’s past, it’s only a few steps behind them, and Freddy must make a choice between school and his familiar routine and protecting the man he’s falling in love with.

OMG! Where The Hell Have You Been?

Hello All!

Thanks for asking, Internet friends. Mostly I’ve been getting down to the nitty gritty of writing. Last night I completed the second book in the Gem City Grit universe in three notebooks. I’m kind of excited about that.

14721476_1125510874182427_3736513169762805442_n

The title is still up in the air. I’m thinking, perhaps, Love It Like You Stole It.

I haven’t notebooked a novel since Threefold Love, which was my first professionally released story. It’s nostalgic, but as I stare down the barrel of typing it all out I’m seriously wondering if I am insane. Working in a notebook allows me to avoid the myriad distractions and pornographic bounties of the Internet, but it also, alas, creates more work. I’m not entirely sure it’s bad work though. I’m, optimistically, choosing to view it as the first layer of editing.

One other thing before I sign off here. Dreamspinner Press has The Paranaturalist on sale with 2 other ghostly tomes until the end of the weekend (October 16, 2016). Happy reading!

Release Day for The Paranaturalist and Blog Tour Info

I’m very excited to have made it this far on this book. It has been a long haul. The Paranaturalist isn’t like my magical first two books that were accepted by the publisher without any questions. This one had to be rewritten. I cried over it and sweat over it and at the end of the day and I think it was much better for all that work.

Happy reading!

The Paranaturalist

As a kid, Joseph Appleyard saw things hidden from others. Now he is The Paranaturalist, an investigator and cohost of a television show that seeks to prove the existence of the paranormal. Some think Joe is crazy, but they don’t realize he knows firsthand there’s more to the world than what most perceive. The trouble is, somewhere along the way, Joe lost his vision and it left his world flat and dull. One night an investigation goes horribly wrong, and a powerful ghostly manifestation sends Joe tumbling into a river. Spirit worker Owen Watson saves Joe’s life, and once they are back on dry land, whatever has been blocking Joe’s vision has been washed away.

When a haunting goes from annoying to dangerous, people turn to Owen Watson. He hates those infuriating hacks from TV, but when he pulls Joe from the river, his mind begins to change. Joe is scared and confused, and Owen realizes he might just be the real thing. Together, they work to understand the part of Joe that has been shut away for so long. But just as Joe is reacclimating to his abilities, his career as a paranormal investigator is in danger of being ripped away. Owen would gladly battle a bloodthirsty spirit for Joe, but he’s out of his element in the world of reality television.
